Planting Instructions
Use distilled water or rainwater for your moss garden.  You can also use de-chlorinated water.  To make de-chlorinated water, simply fill a wide container with water and leave out and open for 24+ hours.  This will allow time for all the chemicals in the water to evaporate.  Mosses are sensitive to these additives and they should be avoided.

-Unpack all components from the box carefully.
-Fill your mister bottle with distilled, rain, or de-chlorinated water.
-Open your bag of Mosses, and remove any debris you may find in them, such as pine needles, or any dead leaves.
-Dunk each moss in the water a couple of times and place on a towel to absorb any excess water.
-Open and rinse the River Gravel and the Accent Stones with tap water.  Place on a towel to absorb excess water.
-Use a plastic spoon to carefully put the River Gravel in the bottom of the terrarium to form an even layer.
-You can trim, sculpt, and cut the moss clumps into smaller clumps prior to placement if you would like.

You will not use all the Moss most likely.  You can save the extra in a clear bag.  Mist lightly prior to storing.

-Place the Mosses and Accent Stones in the terrarium carefully to create you own Moss Garden
-You can use a fork, chopstick, or straw to move the Mosses and Stones into position. You can flatten the moss.
-You can also add additional stones to the terrarium.  Do not put wood in as it can mold.  Be creative and have fun!
-Now that your terrarium is planted, carefully put the cork stopper in the hole on top and very gently press down until there are no gaps in the opening
-Place the terrarium in an area where it will not be easily hit or knocked over, that receives INDIRECT light, but not any direct sunlight.  A north or east window is usually best.
-See if condensation appears the next day.  If it doesn’t, open the terrarium and mist the mosses.  Repeat each day until you see condensation.  If there is standing water at the bottom of the terrarium, you don’t need to mist.
-Replace the cork after misting.
-Once a month, remove the cork for a few hours to allow air to circulate.  Mist the mosses after and replaced the cork.

Mosses like cool temperatures and high humidity.  They are very adaptable and can survive in a wide range of temperatures, but 60-75 degrees is their ideal.  The terrarium ensures a humid environment and helps stabilize the temperature inside.

Care and Growing Instructions
-If it appears to be to wet inside, you can take the cork out for a few hours to a day to let it dry out some.
-Mist the Mosses themselves a little prior to re-sealing the terrarium.
-When the cork is in place properly, you will need to add very little water as all the water stays in the system and is recycled.
-Rotate your terrarium on a weekly basis so the plants grow evenly.
-You do not need to fertilize your mosses.
-Remove any dead foliage in the terrarium.
-Moss is a slow but steady grower.
