Sprouting, Growing, and Care Information

Unique Gardener Product Instructions

Altruistic Aloe

Growing and Care Information
-Place compressed germination disk inside the colored base of the terrarium and slowly add 1 cup of water.  The germination disk will absorb the water and expand into your growing medium.
-Use a plastic spoon to aerate and mix the soil up.  Add up to another ¼ cup of water if necessary to create moist soil.
-Gently push down the growing medium and smooth. The growing medium should be well moistened but there should not be any pockets of standing water.
-Spread your seeds on the surface of the soil.  Gently push them into the soil about 1/8” and cover with the medium.
-Place a small layer of gravel on top of the area and press into the soil.  You must cover them with gravel, as their top root often points into the air when they sprout.  The gravel holds the tap root in place, so the seedling can grow.
-Put the top on your planted greenhouse and place it in bright, indirect light where it will not be easily knocked over.
-The seeds will sprout in one to two months.
-Keep top of container on until the leaves start hitting the sides and top if you want slower growth. You will need to add water every month or two.
-If you want them to grow quickly, remove top two weeks after sprouting and water every three weeks.
-They will tolerate a variety of light and water conditions but thrive in full sun.  You can tell when they need water as their leaves will be less fleshy and the container will be much lighter.
-Little plantlets will start to grow from your mature plants.  You can gently remove them and root in water or plant and keep moist to start new plants!

Harvesting and Using Aloe
Extract Aloe’s healing gel from the lower leaves that are the fleshiest.  Once cut open, the leaf will naturally close itself and can be stored in a bag in the refrigerator for later use.  You can apply the sap directly to burns, scrapes, or rashes.

Altruistic Aloe FAQ
How long will my Aloe plants take to sprout?
Your Aloe seeds take one to two months to sprout.

What is the process for sprouting my Aloe?
First, hydrate the soil with the amount of water recommended in the instructions. You can do this right in the base (the green, shorter piece) of your Seed Square. Once hydrated, aerate your soil and then smooth out the top. Place or sprinkle your Aloe seed where you would like and cover it with 1/8” of soil. Place a thin layer of gravel on top of the area and gently press into the soil. Place the clear top on your Seed Square. (The holes should be at the top). Cover both holes with a small piece of clear tape. This will prevent any moisture from escaping. You can leave the tape on or remove the tape 1-2 months after germination.

What is the gravel for?
The gravel serves a very important purpose, and you must cover your seeds with gravel, as their top root often points upwards into the air when they sprout. The gravel holds the tap root in place, so the seedling can grow. It will keep your seedlings in place during watering and prevent soil compaction as well. The gravel also reduces fungal growth.

How often do I have to water my Aloe Seed Square?
Once sprouted, water your Aloe sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Typically, watering every 1-2 months if your Seed Square top is on and every 2-3 weeks if the Seed Square top is off is sufficient.

Can I propagate my Aloe?
Yes! Aloe can be propagated from offsets. Carefully remove the offsets from the parent plant and plant them in their own section of the terrarium or another pot.

Why are my Aloe leaves turning brown?
Aloe leaves can turn brown due to overwatering, underwatering, or excessive direct sunlight. Be sure to water properly and give your Aloe adequate sunlight. You can use sharp scissors or pruners to remove dead leaves.

How do I use the lid as a pedestal?
If you decide you would like for your Aloe to grow faster once they have sprouted, you can remove the top and use it as a pedestal for your Seed Square. To use the lid as a pedestal, remove the lid from the planter and place it on a steady surface with the holes being at the top. Then, simply place your planter on top of the lid. You will feel the planter fit into place over the top of the pedestal. Once you remove the top, your Aloe will need to be watered every 1-2 weeks.

Cacti Collection FAQ
How long will my Cacti plants take to sprout?
Your Cacti seeds can take about one to two weeks to sprout. However, Cacti seeds often will not germinate in the Months of December and January. If planted during these months, you may not see sprouts until February. Once they have sprouted, the new cacti will focus on growing roots for the next few months. Consequently, there is little growth observed during this time. After this period, the new cacti will grow every time they are watered.

How fast will my Cacti grow?
Cacti will naturally limit their size and growth to adapt to the habitat they are in. Your cacti will grow no larger than your Carefree Capsule. However, if you transplant your Cacti into a larger pot, it will grow more.

What is the process for sprouting my Cacti?
First, hydrate the soil with the amount of water recommended in the instructions. You can do this directly inside of your Glass Capsule if you would like. Once hydrated, aerate your soil and then smooth out the top. Place or sprinkle your Cacti seed where you would like and cover it with 1/8” of soil. Next, you can add a thin layer of the included sand, or you can wait to add the sand until after your Cacti sprout. Cover the opening of the Glass Capsule with plastic wrap and a rubber band to ensure germination. You can remove the cover as early as two weeks after your seeds sprout.

How often do I have to water my Carefree Capsule?
Once sprouted, water your Cacti sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Typically, watering once every two weeks is sufficient. Cacti need more water in the Spring and Summer and less in the Fall and Winter.

How much water do I use in my Carefree Capsule?
Once sprouted, you will add 1/8 cup of water to your Carefree Capsule. Cacti typically need more water in the Spring and Summer and less water in the Fall and Winter.

Why are my Cactus’ spines turning brown?
Cactus spines can turn brown due to overwatering or excessive direct sunlight. Be sure to water properly and give your Cacti adequate sunlight.

Why did the color of my Cactus change?
Color change is normal in Cacti. They usually change color as per the climate, mostly in the Winter. They can turn pink/red in the winter and are usually green again by Summer.

Why is my Cactus turning pale?
Your Cactus is likely pale due to overwatering or insufficient light. Cacti need bright, indirect sunlight and minimal water. Be sure to only water your Cacti when the soil is completely dry, about once every two to four weeks.

Why is my Cactus soft?
Cacti can turn soft from receiving too much water. Their roots can become waterlogged, causing decay. If you notice your Cactus becoming soft, adjust your watering schedule and increase light exposure.

Carnivorous Growarium

Growing and Care Information

  • Place your germination disk in a separate container and slowly pour 3/4 cups of DISTILLED water directly on the disk. Only use distilled or collected rain water. DO NOT USE well, tap, spring or any other water other than distilled or rain water.  The minerals in other water will destroy your seedlings.
  • Use a plastic spoon to mix and aerate the planting mixture that will rapidly form.
  • Carefully use the plastic spoon to add the germination mixture to the double sphere glass terrarium. Only fill it up to a level that is ¼ of an inch from the lower lip of the opening in the container.
  • Use the spoon to press the medium flat and make the surface smooth.
  • The seeds are tiny. Sprinkle the seeds into the crease of a small piece of paper folded in half. Spread them out on the surface of the soil and very lightly cover them with about 1/8 of an inch of soil and press smooth.
  • You can place your Blue Quartz Stone in now or wait until your seeds have sprouted.
  • Adhere the circular germination lock decal to the entire circular opening of the container. Place your planted terrarium in a place where it receives bright indirect sunlight and will not be easily knocked over.
  • Seeds will germinate in 6 weeks to 3 months, depending on variety.
  • After 4-6 months, remove the germination lock decal and water weekly with DISTILLED WATER. Your plants will thrive in a moist environment. You can remove decal and add DISTILLED water as needed monthly during the germination phase, and then replace the decal.
  • When plants die back, you will need to give them a cold period. Cut back and put in refrigerator for 6-8 weeks. Keep soil barely moist during that time. Then remove and keep moist with DISTILLED WATER. They will grow back larger and larger each year that you do this.
  • Never feed your plants raw meat. When the traps get larger, you can feed them tiny amounts of cooked meat.

Carnivorous Growarium FAQ
How long will my Carnivorous plants take to sprout?
Your Carnivorous seeds can take six weeks to three months to sprout.

What is the process for sprouting carnivorous seed?

First, hydrate the soil with the amount of distilled water recommended in the instructions. You can do this right in the base of your biodome. Once hydrated, aerate your soil and then smooth out the top. Place or sprinkle your Flytrap seed where you would like and cover it with 1/8” of soil. Sprinkle the Sundew seeds on top of the soil. Cover the opening of your Growarium with the included circular germination lock decal. The seeds will germinate in about 6 weeks.

Why do I have to use rainwater or distilled water to water my Carnivorous kit?
Carnivorous Plants require distilled water to thrive due to their unique nutritional needs and sensitivity to minerals.
The minerals found in ordinary tap water, bottled water, well water, purified and spring waters are harmful to your carnivorous plants. These minerals are typically not found in the peat bogs they naturally grow in and instead are obtained through insects they capture. Use Only Distilled water or collected rainwater.  Do not use bottled, tap, spring, well, or salt water.

How often do I have to water my Carnivorous kit?
Use Only Distilled water or collected rainwater.  Carnivorous Plants like to be kept moist, so be sure to keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Water with distilled water whenever the top layer of soil begins to dry out.

When will my Carnivorous Plants eat bugs?
Your Carnivorous plants will not need to eat flies until they are two or three years old although most plants receive their nutrients from the soil. When they are mature, you can remove the lid and thoroughly saturate soil with distilled water, then place in a cool, shady area. The plants will attract little gnats and other small bugs with a sweet scent they emit to catch insects.

Can I feed meat to my Carnivorous Plants?
Carnivorous Plants obtain essential nutrients by capturing and digesting insects. While they can thrive on insects, meat is not recommended. Carnivorous plants are made to digest insects specifically, therefore feeding your plant meat could inhibit digestion and harm the plant.

Why are individual Flytrap leaves turning black?
It usually means your trap has died when its leaves turn black. It is normal for old traps to die and new traps to grow. A trap can only close a certain number of times before it dies, so be careful not to purposefully trigger your Flytrap to close it’s trap. A Flytraps leave’s turning black could also indicate overwatering, most times caused by poor drainage. If you encounter a black trap, remove it from the plant and ensure your Flytrap is getting adequate sunlight and proper watering.

Why is my Flytrap dying?
If you notice your whole plant dying, it likely needs a cold period. Trim your plant down and put it in your refrigerator for 6-8 weeks, adding a very small amount of water to your Flytrap every 3 weeks. After the cold period in the refrigerator, water your Flytrap thoroughly with distilled water and place your Seed Square in a warm, well-lit area.

-Gently push down the growing medium and smooth. The growing medium should be well moistened but there should not be any pockets of standing water.
-Sprinkle the seeds onto your growing medium as desired.  Seeds are tiny, you may want to pour on to a creased piece of paper. Gently push them into and cover with the medium. Then mist the top gently with DISTILLED WATER.
-Put the top on your planted greenhouse and place it in bright, indirect light where it will not be easily knocked over.
-The seeds will sprout in six weeks to three months.

-Never feed your plants raw meat.  When the traps get larger, you can feed them tiny amounts of cooked meat.

    Note
The Compressed Peat Disk does NOT contain any supplemental nutrients.  Carnivorous plants eat meat because the peat in their natural habitat lacks any minerals, salts, or nutrients.  Fertilizing your plants at all will harm them.  DO NOT FERTILIZE.  ONLY WATER WITH DISTILLED WATER.

These plants developed this ability to cope with the nutrient poor environment they are native too.  As a result of this, it is important to only water them with distilled water and to not apply fertilizer to them. Flytraps are perennials that can live for decades and their traps increase in size each year, when they return after a rather brief cold period.

    Fascinating Flytraps FAQ
How long will my Flytraps take to sprout?

      The Meat-Eating Mouse FAQ
How long will my Carnivorous plants take to sprout?
Your Carnivorous seeds can take six weeks to three months to sprout.

What is the process for sprouting carnivorous seed?

First, hydrate the soil with the amount of distilled water recommended in the instructions. You can do this right in the base of your biodome. Once hydrated, aerate your soil and then smooth out the top. Place or sprinkle your Flytrap seed where you would like and cover it with 1/8” of soil. Sprinkle the Sundew seeds on top of the soil. The seeds will germinate in about 4-8 weeks.

If you keep your cork on, add a small amount of water, just enough to moisten the soil about once a month. If you remove the cork, add a small amount of water weekly. If you accidentally add too much water, tip your mouse garden gently to let the excess water drain out.

      Mini Desert Collection FAQ
How long will my Cacti plants take to sprout?
Your Cacti seeds can take about one to two weeks to sprout. However, Cacti seeds often will not germinate in the Months of December and January. If planted during these months, you may not see sprouts until February. Once they have sprouted, the new cacti will focus on growing roots for the next few months. Consequently, there is little growth observed during this time. After this period, the new cacti will grow every time they are watered.

How fast will my Cacti grow?
Cacti will naturally limit their size and growth to adapt to the habitat they are in. Your cacti will grow no larger than your Glass Terrarium. However, if you transplant your Cacti into a larger pot, it will grow more.

What is the process for sprouting my Cacti?
First, hydrate the soil with the amount of water recommended in the instructions. You can do this directly inside your Glass Terrarium if you would like. Once hydrated, aerate your soil and then smooth out the top. Place or sprinkle your Cacti seed where you would like and cover it with 1/8” of soil. Next, you can add a thin layer of the included sand, or you can wait to add the sand until after your Cacti sprout. Cover the opening of the Glass Terrarium with plastic wrap and a rubber band to ensure germination. You can remove the cover as early as two weeks after your seeds sprout.

How often do I have to water my Glass Terrarium?
Once sprouted, water your Cacti sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Typically, watering once every two weeks is sufficient. Cacti need more water in the Spring and Summer and less in the Fall and Winter.

How much water do I use in my Glass Terrarium?
Once sprouted, you will add 1/8 cup of water to your Glass Terrarium.

      MossBowl

      Activating and Using LED Light

      1. Remove light by pressing up from bottom and popping out on top.
        2. Grip the bottom of the light and twist counter clockwise until is separates into two pieces.
        3. Remove the white plastic paper between the battery and spring.
        4. Put two pieces back together and gently twist back together.
        5. Do not overtighten.
        6. Replace light in the cork.
        7. Turn light on and off by twisting top notch as indicated on the light.

This is not meant to be a grow light.  It is an accent light to enjoy your garden with and not meant to be on all the time.  You can replace the batteries if need be, light has 2 CR2032 Lithium 3V batteries.
***Expected battery life is 30-40 hours

      Planting Instructions
Use distilled water or rainwater for your moss garden.  You can also use de-chlorinated water.  To make de-chlorinated water, simply fill a wide container with water and leave out and open for 24+ hours.  This will allow time for all the chemicals in the water to evaporate.  Mosses are sensitive to these additives and they should be avoided.

-Unpack all components from the box carefully.
-Fill your mister bottle with distilled, rain, or de-chlorinated water.
-Open your bag of Mosses, and remove any debris you may find in them, such as pine needles, or any dead leaves.
-Dunk each moss in the water a couple of times and place on a towel to absorb any excess water.
-Open and rinse the River Gravel and the Accent Stones with tap water.  Place on a towel to absorb excess water.
-Use a plastic spoon to carefully put the River Gravel in the bottom of the terrarium to form an even layer.
-You can trim, sculpt, and cut the moss clumps into smaller clumps prior to placement if you would like.

You will not use all the Moss most likely.  You can save the extra in a clear bag.  Mist lightly prior to storing.

-Place the Mosses and Accent Stones in the terrarium carefully to create you own Moss Garden
-You can use a fork, chopstick, or straw to move the Mosses and Stones into position. You can flatten the moss.
-You can also add additional stones to the terrarium.  Do not put wood in as it can mold.  Be creative and have fun!
-Now that your terrarium is planted, carefully put the cork stopper in the hole on top and very gently press down until there are no gaps in the opening
-Place the terrarium in an area where it will not be easily hit or knocked over, that receives INDIRECT light, but not any direct sunlight.  A north or east window is usually best.
-See if condensation appears the next day.  If it doesn’t, open the terrarium and mist the mosses.  Repeat each day until you see condensation.  If there is standing water at the bottom of the terrarium, you don’t need to mist.
      -Replace the cork after misting.
-Once a month, remove the cork for a few hours to allow air to circulate.  Mist the mosses after and replaced the cork.

Mosses like cool temperatures and high humidity.  They are very adaptable and can survive in a wide range of temperatures, but 60-75 degrees is their ideal.  The terrarium ensures a humid environment and helps stabilize the temperature inside.

      Care and Growing Instructions
-If it appears to be to wet inside, you can take the cork out for a few hours to a day to let it dry out some.
-Mist the Mosses themselves a little prior to re-sealing the terrarium.
-When the cork is in place properly, you will need to add very little water as all the water stays in the system and is recycled.
-Rotate your terrarium on a weekly basis so the plants grow evenly.
-You do not need to fertilize your mosses.
-Remove any dead foliage in the terrarium.
-Moss is a slow but steady grower.

Alex 'The Soothing' Aloe Character Micro Dome

      Planting and Care Instructions

-Place your decal on your terrarium base.
-Place the germination disk inside the base of the dome and slowly add 1 cup of water directly on the disk. Use a spoon to spread the mixture that will immediately start growing.
-Use the spoon to aerate and evenly space soil across the dome and press smooth. You can add up to another ¼ cup of water if you need to.
-Spread your seeds on top of the germination mixture at least ½ inch apart. Cover seeds with gravel and press down 1/8 inch into the soil.
-Aloes need a blanket of gravel or they will flip their tap root out into the air and not be able to drink when they sprout. It is silly, but true!
-Place your stake and Blue Jasper stone in your Aloe garden. Put the lid on the base, lining up the tabs and viewing window with the decal.
-Place planted terrarium in bright indirect light, where it will not easily be knocked over. Aloe can thrive in many light conditions, including full sun.
-Seeds will germinate in 4 to 8 weeks.
-Keep top on until your plants reach the top, then remove. Prune any dead foliage from plants to encourage their growth.
-You will need to water once a month or so when you remove the top. Aloe plants can tolerate long dry spells. You can tell how dry or wet they by how plump their foliage is. It is important to let the soil thoroughly dry out for a few days (at least) between waterings.
-New little Aloe plants will form around your original plant. You can let them grow or remove them and plant them on their own!

      Alex ‘The Soothing’ Aloe FAQ
How long will my Aloe plants take to sprout?
Your Aloe seeds take one to two months to sprout.

What is the process for sprouting my Aloe?
First, hydrate the soil with the amount of water recommended in the instructions. You can do this right in the base of your Micro Dome. Once hydrated, aerate your soil and then smooth out the top. Place or sprinkle your Aloe seed where you would like and cover it with 1/8” of soil. Place a thin layer of gravel on top of the area and gently press into the soil.

How often do I have to water my Micro Dome?
Once mature, water your Aloe sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Typically, watering every 1-2 months if your Micro Dome top is on and every 2-3 weeks if the Micro Dome top is off is sufficient.

-If you see any mold forming, take the top for a day or two and manually remove the mold.
-You can also water with a 1:50 mix of hydrogen peroxide and water to eliminate the mold.  This is about one capful to 7 ounces of water.
-Removing the top will also prevent mold from forming, but only do this after germination.
-Be sure to check water on a weekly basis with the top on.
If you wish to water less, use clear tape to cover the side vents of the top of the biosphere.
-If you decide to remove the dome top, you will need to check the moisture every few days as the planter will dry out much more quickly.
-If you do happen to overwater, simply tip the planter base slightly and allow the excess water to flow out.  You can also leave the top off until the soil has dried out to the desired level.
-Rotate your Biosphere on a weekly basis so the plants grow evenly.
-You can fertilize, use houseplant fertilizer diluted to half the recommended strength.  Only apply in the spring and summer months.
-Remove any dead flowers before they turn into seeds to prevent the plants from going dormant.

-Empty the pack of Sundew seeds into your palm and place on surface where you would like them.
-Spread the Pitcher Plant seed mixture where you would like after removing from the refrigerator.
-Place your Alligator and meat-eating plant stakes where you would like them.
-Put the clear top of the biosphere on, lining up the tabs.
-Put your Carnivorous Biosphere near a window in bright indirect light where it will not be easily knocked over.
-Seeds also like heat when germinating, so be sure that the planter is not too cool.  72-80 degrees is the ideal temperature for sprouting.
-You can tell how dry the soil is by the weight of the planter.  Add DISTILLED water as required to keep the soil moist on a weekly basis.
-Your Sundew will germinate in 1-4 weeks, your Flytraps will sprout in 1-3 months, and you Pitcher Plants will germinate in 1-2 months.
-Leave the top on until the plants have reached the top, or prune plant as needed and leave the top on.
-Plants are very small and slow growing.

      Care and Growing Instructions
-Use Only Distilled water or collected rainwater.  Do not use bottled, tap, spring, well, or salt water.
-Carnivorous plants like to be kept moist and thrive in bright indirect light.
-Never fertilize or feed raw meat.
-You can feed them small bits of cooked meat.
-These are perennials and need a cold period.  When the leaves start dying down, remove the dead ones and place the entire terrarium in the refrigerator for six weeks.  Let it dry our more during this period. Bring out and saturate with distilled water and they will come back, bigger than the prior year!
-Promptly trim off and remove any dead foliage.
-Do not put your terrarium outside in full sun as the terrarium will dry out to quickly.
-If you wish to water less, use clear tape to cover the side vents of the top of the biosphere.
-If you decide to remove the dome top, you will need to check the moisture every few days as the planter will dry out much more quickly.
-If you do happen to overwater, simply tip the planter base slightly and allow the excess water to flow out.  You can also leave the top off until the soil has dried out to the desired level.

      Carnivorous Creatures FAQ
How long will my Carnivorous plants take to sprout?
Your Carnivorous seeds can take six weeks to three months to sprout. The Pitcher plant seeds need to be cooled for six to eight weeks before germinating them as indicated in the instructions. Please see instructions on how to do so. Once the Pitcher Plant seeds are planted after the cool period, they can take an additional eight weeks to sprout.

Sprinkle the Sundew and Pitcher Plant seeds on top of the soil. (Make sure your Pitcher Plant seeds have had the cold period.) Once you have decorated your Biodome, close the biosphere by adding the clear top. Be sure the tabs are lined up. The seeds will germinate in about eight weeks. You can plant the Flytrap and Sundew first, while the Pitcher Plants are cooling if you would like.

When the Pitcher Plants that are in the refrigerator are cooling, you will want to add a cup of distilled water every three to four weeks. When you remove them from the refrigerator, saturate the soil thoroughly, (it should be very wet to the touch) and snap the lid on.

A Flytraps leave’s turning black
could also indicate overwatering, most times caused by poor drainage. If you encounter a black trap, remove it from the plant and ensure your Flytrap is getting adequate sunlight and proper watering.

      Why is my Flytrap dying?
If you notice your whole plant dying, it likely needs a cold period. Trim your plant down and put it in
your refrigerator for 6-8 weeks, adding a very small amount of water to your Flytrap every 3 weeks. After the cold period in the refrigerator, water your Flytrap thoroughly with distilled water and place your Seed Square in a warm, well-lit area.

      Planting Growing Instructions

-Apply your cat decal to the side of the base. Place disk in your terrarium base.
-Slowly pour 1 cup of water directly on the disk. Use a spoon to spread the planting mixture as it blooms before your eyes.
-Slowly pour another cup of water on the remaining disk. Use the spoon in the same manner to spread the germination mixture.
-Use the spoon to aerate the mixture, and then press the medium flat and make the surface smooth.
-Place your Cute Kitten where you would like it to be.
-Sprinkle the Catnip seeds on the surface of the soil. They need light to germinate.
-Put the top on your planted greenhouse and place it in bright, indirect light where it will not be easily knocked over.
-Seeds will germinate in 1 to 2 weeks.
-Keep top on and prune plants. This will prevent your feline friends from knocking the planter over!
-Do not let them flower and prune any flowers as soon as they start forming. The plant will die after it flowers and forms seeds.
-You will need to water once a week or so, more if you do decide to remove the top. It is good to let the plants dry out in between watering, but do not allow them to dry out for more than a day or two.
-If your planter is drying out too quickly, you can use tape to cover side vents. However, side air flow will help keep your plants healthy and happy!
-These perennial plants can be planted outside after the danger of frost has passed. Then they will return year after year in the Spring!

      Fred Flytrap Character Micro Dome

      Planting and Care Information:

-Place your decal on your terrarium base.
-Place the germination disk inside the base of the dome and slowly add 1 cup of DISTILLED WATER directly on the disk. USE ONLY DISTILLED WATER. This is NOT spring, mineral, or tap water. Rain water is the only possible substitute.
-Use a spoon to spread the mixture that will immediately start growing.
-Use the spoon to aerate and evenly space soil across the dome and press smooth. You can add up to another ¼ cup of water if you need to.
-The seeds are tiny. Empty the small inner pack onto the crease of a folded piece of paper. Spread your seeds on top of the germination mixture at least ½ inch apart.
-Press seeds down into the soil and slightly cover with soil.
-These seeds will take 6 weeks to 3 months to sprout, so you will need to be patient and make sure container stays moist, but not saturated. USE ONLY DISTILLED OR RAINWATER.
-Place your stake and red Jasper stone in your Fly Trap Habitat. Put the lid on the base, lining up the tabs and viewing window with the decal.
Place planted terrarium in bright indirect light, where it will not easily be knocked over.
-Seeds will germinate in 6 to 12 weeks.
-Keep top on until your plants. Insects will come in through the vents when they smell the traps.
-When plants die back, you will need to give them a cold period. Cut back and put in refrigerator for 6-8 weeks. Keep soil barely moist during that time. Then remove, saturate, and keep moist with DISTILLED WATER. They are perennials used to a light frost.

      Fred ‘The Ferocious’ Flytrap FAQ
How long will my Flytraps take to sprout?
Flytraps can take six weeks to three months to sprout.

-Slowly pour 1 cup of DISTILLED water directly on the disk. Use a spoon to spread the planting mixture as it blooms before your eyes. You can also use rain water to water your Fly Traps. DO NOT USE bottled, tap, spring, well, carbonated, or any other water on your Fly Traps. The minerals in it will kill them.
-Slowly pour another half cup of DISTILLED water on the remaining disk. Use the spoon in the same manner to spread the germination mixture.
-Use the spoon to aerate the mixture, and then press the medium flat and make the surface smooth.
-Seeds will germinate in 6 weeks to 3 months, so you will need to be patient.
-Keep top of container on and be sure to keep soil moist and ONLY USE DISTILLED WATER.
-When plants die back, you will need to give them a cold period. Cut back and put in refrigerator for 6-8 weeks. Keep soil barely moist during that time. Then remove and keep moist with DISTILLED WATER.

      Frightening Flytraps FAQ
How long will my Flytraps take to sprout?
Flytraps can take six weeks to three months to sprout.

Why do I have to use rainwater or distilled water to water my Flytraps?
Flytraps require distilled water to thrive due to their unique nutritional needs and sensitivity to minerals.

How often do I have to water my Flytraps?
Use Only Distilled water or collected rainwater. Flytraps like to be kept moist, so be sure to keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Water with distilled water whenever the top layer of soil begins to dry out.

When will my Flytraps eat bugs?
Your Flytraps will not need to eat flies until they are two or three years old. When they are mature, you can remove the lid and thoroughly saturate soil with distilled water, then place in a cool, shady area. The plants will attract little gnats and other small bugs with a sweet scent they emit to catch insects.

Can I feed meat to my Flytraps?
Flytraps obtain essential nutrients by capturing and digesting insects. While they can thrive on insects, meat is not recommended. Carnivorous plants are made to digest insects specifically, therefore feeding your plant meat could inhibit digestion and harm the plant.

      How Long do Flytraps live?
Flytraps can live 20 years with proper care.

      Sully The Giant Saguaro FAQ
How long will my Cacti plants take to sprout?
Your Cacti seeds can take about one to two weeks to sprout. However, Cacti seeds often will not germinate in the Months of December and January. If planted during these months, you may not see sprouts until February. Once they have sprouted, the new cacti will focus on growing roots for the next one to two months. Consequently, there is little growth observed during this time. After this period, the new cacti will grow every time they are watered. Their height can reach an inch and a half during the first year.

What is the process for sprouting my Cacti?
First, hydrate the soil with the amount of water recommended in the instructions. You can do this right in the base of your Micro Dome. Once hydrated, aerate your soil and then smooth out the top. Place or sprinkle your Cacti seed where you would like and cover it with 1/8” of soil.

How often do I have to water my Micro Dome?
Once sprouted, water your Cacti sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Typically, watering once every two weeks is sufficient if your terrarium top is off.  If your terrarium top is on, you will want to water your Cacti about once every two months. Cacti need more water in the Spring and Summer and less in the Fall and Winter.

How much water do I use in my Micro Dome?
Once sprouted, you will add ½ cup to 1 cup of water to your Micro Dome depending on how dry the soil is and what season it is. Cacti typically need more water in the Spring and Summer and less water in the Fall and Winter.

Why are my Cactus’ spines turning brown?
Cactus spines can turn brown due to overwatering, underwatering, or excessive direct sunlight.

Be sure to only water your Cacti when the soil is completely dry, about once every one to two weeks if the top is off and once every two months if the top is on.

      Why is my Cactus soft?
Cacti can turn soft from receiving too much water. Their roots can become waterlogged, causing decay. If you notice your Cactus becoming soft, adjust your watering schedule and increase light exposure.
