Desert Plant Collection

Planting and Care Instructions

-Apply your Desert decal to the side of the base. Place disk in your terrarium base.
-Slowly pour 1 cup of water directly on the disk. Use a spoon to spread the planting mixture as it blooms before your eyes.
-Slowly pour another cup of water on the remaining disk. Use the spoon in the same manner to spread the germination mixture.
-Use the spoon to aerate the mixture, and then press the medium flat and make the surface smooth.
-Place your Arrowhead and Cub where you would like.
-Sprinkle the Cacti seeds into the crease of a small piece of paper folded in half. -Spread them out on the surface of the soil and cover them with about 1/8 of an inch of soil and press smooth.
-Cacti have seed clocks and often will not germinate during the months of December and January. If you plant them then, you may have to wait until February to see sprouts!
-Spread your Succulent seeds on top of the germination mixture at least ½ inch apart. Cover large flat seeds with gravel and press down 1/8 inch into the soil.
-Aloes and other succulents need a blanket of gravel or they will flip their tap root out into the air and not be able to drink when they sprout.
-Spread the rest of the sand and gravel throughout your garden to complete your desert landscape.
-Put the top on your planted greenhouse and place it in bright, indirect light where it will not be easily knocked over.
-Seeds will germinate in 1 to 6 weeks, depending on variety.
-Keep top on until your plants reach the top, then remove. This will take some time, but then you will only need to water every 2-3 months, even less. If you want them to grow more quickly, remove the top and water once a month.
